We want to share something honestly with our customers ❤️ Running an independent restaurant right now is harder than ever. Energy remains far higher than what used to be normal, while food, packaging and wage costs continue to rise. National Insurance, VAT and business rates have also increased, at a time when hospitality sales are declining. Earlier this year we increased our pizza prices by £1. We want to be clear - that doesn’t come close to covering the cost increases we’re facing. We absorbed as much as we could for as long as we could. One area where this pressure is felt most sharply is delivery apps. Platforms like Deliveroo and Uber Eats take 36% of every order on top of charging you a delivery and service fee, often making more money from our pizzas than we do. If we offer cheaper prices when customers order direct, we are pushed down the app, making us harder to find. We’re also asked to pay to appear higher up. POPSI’S currently spends around £350 a week, at 65p per click, just to stay visible. We’re encouraged to take part in promotions like buy-one-get-one-free, fully funded by us, often meaning we sell pizzas at a loss simply to appear on the first page. This isn’t shared to complain it’s to explain. Independents are closing at alarming rates. If there’s one thing you can do in 2026, it’s this: support local independents wherever possible. For us, if you can, please order direct rather than through third-party apps it’s cheaper for you and better for us

Having reflected on the sad news of Beards & Boards, We wanted to share something honestly with our customers ❤️ Running an independent restaurant right now is harder than ever. Energy remains far higher than what used to be normal, while food, packaging and wage costs continue to rise. As we head into New Year’s Eve, we just want to say a massive thank you to every single one of you ❤️ Before anything else, a quick reminder that we’re closed on the 31st and the 1st, so our team can take a well-earned rest and reset before the year ahead. On that note, we want to give a huge shout-out to Mina, our amazing manager, and her incredible team. They work unbelievably hard, care deeply about what they do, and continue to show up every day — even when things are tough. We’re so grateful for them and incredibly proud of the team behind POPSI’S. We also want to send our love and best wishes to Beards & Boards, who are sadly closing on the 1st. New Year’s Eve is their very last day, so if you can, please go and support these local heroes. While we won’t be supplying pizzas that night, we want to thank them for teaming up with us over the last four-and-a-bit years. Their support and presence have meant a lot to us, and we’re genuinely very sad to see them go. Thank you again for supporting us, for choosing local, and for being part of our journey.
